I assume you have disabled ReadyBoost and then gone back in to re-enable it?  What happens when you try to do that?

I have the same problem, worked before vista Service Pack 1 installed,  but now it says the drive doesn't have the required performance.

I have the same 4GB Cruzer Micro.

Are you referring to opening the cache file on your ready boost drive? Once you enable readyboost for the drive you don't have to do anything else. Any time the drive is then inserted it will automatically start using readyboost. Nothing further by the user is required.

Please see picture below, Windows refuses to accept that the device is compatible with Ready Boost. It did work, but now it doesn't. I bought this device because it was Ready Boost compatible. Any Ideas??

You can fix this by tweaking the registry.

Format the flash drive and remove it from your computer. Go to the following registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\EMDMgmt

Remove all the sub values (they look like folders) that are there. They usually are in the form:

_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F0O1111B&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}BOOST_1517140716]

You may have several of these.

Then re-insert the flash memory stick.

Re-open regedit and change the following values in the memory stick settings Vista has just created.

"CacheSizeInMB"=dword:000003c0
"CacheStatus"=dword:00000001

"DeviceStatus"=dword:00000002

Then close regedit and right-click the memory stick drive from "my computer". Go to the ReadyBoost tab and set the cache size as you like.

That's it. Enjoy

How would readyboost get disabled, and how do you enable it. My readyboost never worked, from the first try it always said the drive does not have the required performance. I never installed Vista Service Pack 1.
